Gobustan to Baku Transfer

We read WhatsApp 09:00–21:00, Baku time. We reply in English, Russian and Azerbaijani.

The way back starts wherever you finished, and that is not always the same gate. Some groups end at the reserve. Some are still out at the volcano field.

Fix the meeting point before you walk away from the car, not after.

Where the driver waits

The reserve car park is the simple answer.

The volcano end is the one worth settling in advance. Say so if the last part of your day is out on the plain. The vehicle that took you over the track brings you back to where your own car is standing. Agree that spot with your driver in the morning and nobody spends the afternoon looking.

The hour back

Tell us the date and where you want to be dropped, and we set the hour with you.

How long you stay is your decision, and it moves everything else. Some people walk the slope twice. Some are ready as soon as the museum door closes behind them. Say which you expect to be, and we plan the day around it.

The clay comes with you

Grey clay on the boots is the normal end of this day.

Bring a bag for the shoes and knock the worst off before you get in. If somebody sat down out there, say so, and the driver puts something on the seat. It is not a problem. It is simply easier when it is expected.

Your things were in the car

Whatever you left behind is still there.

Coats, spare water and the bags you did not want on the trail stay with the driver while you walk. That is the point of having your own car rather than a seat on something scheduled.

Where we set you down in Baku

Your hotel, a restaurant, the Old City, or your own door.

Say which when you book. If several of you are staying in different places, tell us that too. Two stops in the centre are easy to plan in advance and awkward to invent at the end of a long day.

A flight the same evening

The airport is east of Baku, past the centre.

Send the flight number and the time with your booking if you are flying out. A drop at the terminal is a different end to the day, and it needs its own margin. We would rather know that before we quote than hear it in the car.

Vehicle and bags

A sedan is fine for two. Four people with luggage want the minivan, and a group wants the minibus.

Send the passenger count and say what you are carrying. Boots covered in clay and an open suitcase in the same boot is a combination worth planning.

Payment

Cash, card, or bank transfer. Tell us when you book.

What we need to quote you

The date, your meeting point at the site, and where you want to be dropped. Then how many of you there are, how many bags, and the flight if there is one.

Common questions

Can the driver collect us at the mud volcanoes?

Fix the exact spot in the morning. The vehicle that crosses the track brings you back to where your own car is parked, and that is where the driver waits.

What time do we head back?

You decide how long to stay, and we set the hour around that. Tell us roughly what you expect and we plan the day for it.

Our shoes are covered in clay. Is that a problem?

No. Bring a bag for them and tell the driver. He can put something down on the seat or in the boot before you get in.

Can you take us straight to the airport?

Yes. Send the flight number and time when you book, because the airport sits east of the city and needs its own margin.
