Guba to Baku Transfer

Guba is close enough to Baku that people treat the road home as an afterthought. It is usually fine. The two things that catch travellers out are apple boxes in autumn and an evening flight nobody counted back from.

How long the road takes

About 170 kilometres and 2 hours 35 minutes, from the centre of Guba to your address in the city.

It is a main road the whole way. There is no mountain section to slow it, which is what makes this route easier to plan than the Shahdag one.

Day trip, or a leg of its own

Most people see Guba on a day trip, and then the return is already paid for. Your driver has waited for you all day and takes you home when you say.

A separate return leg is a different order. The car drives up from Baku to collect you, so we need an hour and an address in advance. Both are normal. Tell us which one you are asking for and we quote the right thing.

Autumn, apples and boxes

Autumn is the busy season here, and almost nobody goes home empty-handed.

Apples travel in boxes, honey and jam travel in glass. Say what you have when you book. Boxes go flat in the boot; jars go where they cannot roll. A sedan takes one large suitcase, so a family with shopping usually wants the minivan.

One last stop before the road

The Red Settlement sits across the river from central Guba, and the waterfall at Afurja is a short run from town.

Either one fits before the drive home if you say so at the time of booking. We build the time into the schedule and the figure into the quote, so an agreed stop never turns into a surprise at the end.

Getting to a flight

The airport sits on the far side of Baku from this road.

That means an airport run is longer than a drop in the city, and it needs its own margin. Give us the flight number and we set the departure hour around it.

Children on the way home

The drive back is when small children give up. We have child seats; tell us the age.

A stop halfway is normal on the way home even though the road is short. Ask for it when you book rather than at the door.

Common questions

Do we have to fix the return hour in advance?

No. On a day trip the driver stays with you and you name the hour during the day. On a separate return leg we do need a time, because the car comes up for you.

We bought apples and jars. Will they fit?

Tell us the boxes when you book and they will. Boxes ride flat in the boot. A sedan holds one large suitcase, so three or four pieces need the minivan.

How late can we leave Guba?

It is a main road and we drive it after dark at the same price. If you have a flight, give us the time and we count back from it.

Can we stop at the Red Settlement before we go?

Yes. It is across the river from the centre, so it costs the day very little. Say so when you book and the time goes into the plan.
