Shahdag is the largest mountain resort in Azerbaijan. You can go from Baku for the day, or stay for several.
How long the drive takes
The resort’s own information puts Shahdag 212 kilometres from Baku. By car the drive takes about 3 hours 20 minutes.
Most of the route is the main road towards Guba. The last stretch, past Gusar, climbs into the mountains. That part is as scenic as it is demanding.
Ski gear and luggage
Luggage on this route works differently from an ordinary transfer.
With skis or a snowboard, a sedan is not enough. Long equipment needs the minivan. Tell us how many sets of gear and how many suitcases, separately.
If you are renting equipment at the resort, the problem goes away and a sedan may be fine. Say which case you are in when you book.
