Leaving Shahdag is the part of a ski trip nobody plans. The room goes at midday, the gear has to come down with you, and there is usually a flight at the end of it.
How long the road takes
About 212 kilometres and 3 hours 20 minutes to your address in Baku.
The first stretch drops off the mountain to Gusar. After that it is the main road south and the driving is ordinary. The difficult part of this route is at the start, not the end.
The gap between check-out and departure
A resort check-out is rarely the hour you want to be in the car.
Leave the bags with the hotel and take the last morning. We come up for the hour you name, and the driver waits at the door rather than circling the car park. If you would rather leave straight after breakfast and have the evening in Baku, that also works. Tell us which shape of day you want.
Gear counts, not bag counts
The number that matters here is not how many suitcases you have.
It is how many pairs of skis, how many boards, and how many boot bags. Long gear does not go in a sedan at all. Send us both numbers, gear and cases, and we send a car that closes its boot.
If you hired everything at the resort and are handing it back, say so. Then the question disappears and a sedan may be enough.
Coming down in winter
The descent is a mountain road, and the mountain decides how it behaves.
Our drivers run it through the season. Send us your date and we will tell you how it looks. On a bad morning the honest answer is sometimes to leave earlier, and we will say that instead of promising the original hour.
Reaching a flight the same day
The airport is east of Baku while this road comes down from the north.
An airport drop is therefore longer than a city drop, and after a mountain descent it deserves a real margin. Give us the flight number when you book and we plan the whole chain from it.
Children and long days
Families make up most of this route in the season. We have child seats; give us the age.
Coming down after a full day on the snow is when children run out. A stop below the mountain is normal, and it costs the day very little. Ask for it when you book.

What time should the car come to the hotel?
Work back from the flight, not forward from check-out. The road is about 3 hours 20 minutes, and the first stretch is a mountain descent in winter.
Our room goes at midday but we ski until the afternoon.
That is a normal request. Leave the bags with the hotel, ski, and we come for you after. Tell us the hour when you book so the car is on the mountain.
How many bags of gear can we bring down?
Count the gear separately from the suitcases and send us both numbers. Skis and boards need the minivan. A sedan takes one large suitcase and no long gear.
What happens if the weather turns on our departure day?
We tell you the evening before and again in the morning. Sometimes the right answer is to come down earlier. We would rather move the hour than push it.
