Azerbaijan e-visa: what it costs and how long it takes

What it costs and how fast it is

The ASAN Visa system issues an electronic visa at two speeds.

The standard e-visa carries a state fee of USD 20 and is issued within three working days. The urgent option costs USD 60 and is issued within three hours.

The three-hour option is worth knowing, because it changes what counts as too late. A trip decided on a Thursday is still possible.

How long you can stay

The e-visa allows a stay of up to 30 days.

That is the stay itself, not a paperwork window. Plan the trip inside it, and count the day you land.

Who can apply

E-visas go to citizens of 95 countries approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and to stateless people living permanently in those countries.

If your nationality is not on that list, this route is not open to you, and the application goes through an embassy instead. Check the list on the portal before you plan around it.

The two-passport trap

This is the rule that quietly voids a visa.

If you hold dual or multiple citizenship, apply on the passport you will actually travel on. If the document you show at the border differs from the one used in the application, the e-visa is treated as invalid.

The visa can look correct in your inbox and still fail at the airport. It is a mismatch of documents, not a judgement about you.

Check the passport number on the approved visa against the passport in your bag. Do that at home, not at check-in.

Apply on the official portal

Apply on the government portal itself.

Many sites resell this application with a markup, and some look official. The state fee is USD 20. A price well above that is somebody’s service charge, not the visa.

We are a travel agency, not a middleman for this. We do not file your e-visa and we do not add a fee to it. It stays your application.

What we actually do

We handle what comes after the visa: the ground.

Airport pickup, transfers between cities, and route planning once you arrive. That is where a local operator earns its place, and it is the part no visa portal covers.

If you land at Heydar Aliyev Airport, send us your flight number and where you are staying. We meet you with a name board and wait until you come out, however long the queue runs.

Before you book anything

Two checks remove most of the trouble.

Confirm your nationality is on the approved list, and confirm which passport you will carry. The rest of this page follows from those two answers.

Then plan the trip inside the 30-day limit, and keep the approved visa with your travel documents rather than only in an email.
